this game is great. I just got this game today. I played it for the first time. I never played a Far Cry game ever. Now I am playing a Far Cry game. this is a great game. I would buy this game.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

I've had this game fpr at least four years now and I still lover to play it over and over. The ability to play the game in different ways is amazing. It allows you to play different every time. There is an overall objective and end result as the story continues, yet getting to the end is completely up to you. You can hunt for diamonds and be rearely seen or you can be a total silent assassin roaming the deserts of Africa. I can't say enough about it!! It's too bad this is the only game out there like this. Great Game!!! Hope to see a Far Cry 3!!!

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

Far Cry 2 has it all; free roam, side conflicts, every decision matters, adventure filled freedom, endless possibilities. You are the hunter and the Jackal is the hunted, but as time is used it seems as though you are the hunted. Battle ferocious and psychotic enemies as though you were actually the character. This game is one of a kind, and hopefully Far Cry 3 is as good or better than Far Cry 2.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

If you are reading this review, you are probably on the fence about buying Far Cry 2. I will only tell you one thing: I love this game! I have always been a fan of games with map editors, and that is why I initially picked up this game. But after a few hours of playing, I realized what a great storyline and gameplay it had. The campaign/story mode takes days to complete with many side missions and items to unlock and I always have a great time playing. Multiplayer was a little blase compared to most of the first-person shooters I've played, but it is entertaining for a while. The Map Community and editor were and still are among the most in-depth for creation and publishing of maps, and that is the reason I still often pick up this game to play. The only flaws I found in this amazing game were that it can be a little glitchy at times (nothing that would ruin the game though) and that NPCs have a ton of health. You could literally shoot one of them fifteen times with a pistol before they died. Other than those points, I have found Far Cry to be a veritable diamond in the rough of games.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

I got this game a couple of weeeks ago. Some friends told me it was a waste of money, so I got it to occupy me while I waited for Battlefield 3. To start off, it's not a waste of money. If anything, it's the best free roam game Iv'e played. Yes, there is a lot of driving but its worth it. Your guns jam, you pull bullets out of yourself, everything that happens in the middle of a gun fight, happens in this game. Online gameplay is quite exciting and is almost as good as MW2, but thats just me. MAp editor is also fun, but I warn you now. Making maps takes quite some time, even to make a decent one. Overall-Great Gamplay, Awesome Graphics, Fantastic Online

---Gameplay--- FarCry 2 is a first-person-shooter and sandbox game. The single-player is very long but very repetitive. Most missions will ask you to travel a long-way to kill a group of guys. Throughout the entire game, almost everyone is trying to kill you for NO REASON! You show up, they shoot you; you run away, they find you! Also, your character is always suffering from Malaria and you will need special medication to survive and needed refills are often far from your location. The Multiplayer is...AMAZING! No Malaria here! The maps range from small like Call of Duty to huge like Battlefield. The best part is that there is a Map Editor! People have made amazing maps with so much creativity and imagination from realistic to dream worlds. Some are so good that they get added to ranked matches. A great thing too about the online, when you spawn your immortal for about 3 seconds so there is no spawn killing. What sucks the most about the ranked online is that leveling up takes a forever. I have rarely seen players around level 20 and never seen a max level 30. ---Graphics--- Mediocre graphics with limited animations. There is a lot of objects though and dynamic weather and lighting. ---Sound--- Not much of a soundtrack. The dialog though is spoken so fast at times that even in your native tongue you may not be able to understand what people are saying. For example, instead of hearing "Go to the north and kill their leader", you hear "Gonorthn killtalead." ---Lasting Appeal--- If the single player grasps you, your in for dozens of hours of gameplay but if its just the multiplayer, then it will probably be short lived. Most players have moved on to other games or never got into Far Cry 2 so finding others to play with is limited. If you can find a group to play with, there are hundreds of maps to check out and a couple of fun game modes to play on each of those maps. ---My Advice--- RENT IT! Far Cry 2 gets mixed feelings from gamers so play it before you choose to buy it.

The online is great and you can basically do whatever! The map editor is great and easy to use! The single player campaign kinda drags on! The gameplay is pretty good but could be better! One thing i like is, depending on where you get shoot you have to heal yourself according to and actually dig out the bullet or pull out the shrapnel! But ya... Thats basically it is pretty good, but if you do not have online Ooo... id say no its a no go! O ya lighting stuff on fire is great! You can watch it engulf entire towns and... ya! Thats fun for a while haha!
