Amazing Game!

I was in on the Beta this last weekend (11/11-11/13), and I have to say the game was absolutely amazing. The game play, the story lines, the character interaction, the moves, the group dynamics... it was all astounding. Truly worth the wait.

This game is perfect for: hardcore gamers

All things considered, i really like this game. The thing that turned me off at first was the fact that they INSISTED on canceling SWG for this game. Granted, SWG was aging by that time but it still retained many unique elements so many MMO's like WOW lack. The amount of Roleplay elements in SWG was immerse, but there seemed to be no retaining ability in TOR. The lack of player housing and the addition of faction specific races really made me feel like i was playing WOW, albeit with a different control scheme and a "Star Wars" label attached onto it.

Now, there are many positives to it. The narration makes you feel like you're playing something you would expect from a single player RPG, but this is to be expected from Bioware. Just the sheer amount of dedication that the voice actors put into their work really made me feel like i was playing a sequel to KOTOR 2. The quests we definitely playable but easy, especially when playing as a jedi. The grind is boring, but if you've got some loyal (and employed) friends you can probably get a good group going. And the graphics are something that need no explanation. For an MMO, it is definitely beautiful.

If you enjoy games such as WOW, or are new to MMO's then i recommend you start here. But if you're looking for something more immerse then i suggest you look elsewhere. All in all, this is a great game if you can afford the upkeep and time.

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

I'm taking back a former review i wrote, and im giving this game a 10 because i left the game to go back to another mmorpg game but there was just no comparison, especially with the new update i can just see that this game is gonna get better and better. If you like Star Wars get it, If you like PVE MMorps with mostly action where you play alone alot like me then this game is perfect.

The game itself is alotta fun, but i just kinna got bored with it after level 30, And to me it just seemed like i was doing the same things over and over with really no feeling of being what i was a jedi. The Jedi side was just plain boring which i was disapointed in because i really like the Jedi and i wish in the early levels they would have gotten more in depth with actual Jedi type training instead of just killing monsters over and over. But when i Played the Sith that when the game got really fun for me and had a blast and was fun all the way to 50. thats when i quit playing. when i first got this game i thought that if you were either either sith or jedi you would become one or the other based on your choices, but that wasnt the case no matter how bad your jedi was or how good your sith was you were just stuck with it. but give the game a shot it does however have wonderful visuals and music and makes the whole world come together.

This game is perfect for: kid gamers

Terrible game in the end. Way too buggy too have been released. I have a main stuck in an instance stunned because the boss stunned me just as i killed it. Cant loot, cant move, cant logout so cant log into other toons. I literally have about 50 bug reports sent to them since I started very casually playing this game. This is just the final bug that made me write a review about Biowares lack of any skill in developing mmo's. Dont waste your money on this far from polished piece of coal.

It could be because of the lack of a decent computer/internet? I have only had to file a report once throughout the whole game. All of my close friends and guildies have never even filed a report. So either your computer/internet is that bad or your that one person out of several that is very unlucky and has experienced every bad thing that could possibly happen. lol

In all seriousness Star Wars has had its ups and downs, and honestly until recently KoTOR was my #1 Star Wars game. Now that Star Wars: The Old Republic has come out its blown previous games out of the water. Set 300 years after the events of KoTOR, the Sith Empire has returned to known space. After an uneasy treaty was negotiated between the Empire and the Republic the galaxy far, far away has experienced a brief peace. I have a level 50 Sith Assassin and just the sheer amount of content since launch was daunting. There are plenty of quests to keep you busy as you explore planets that you already know from the Star Wars Universe. The class stories are engaging as you converse with NPC's Mass Effect style and everything you say affects the conversation line. At certain points you can get conversation choices that advance you along the Light side or Dark side of the force. Graphically, I was a little disappointed but just the awesome story makes up for it. The sound makes you believe you are where your at in the game weather its the jungles of Dromund Kaas or the deserts of Tatooine the sound is accurate. The soundtrack is a combination of the musical scores of all six films, both KoTOR games and several hours of original composition. Honestly there is so much to do in this game that you can go several months on one character and still be able to start a new character with a different class and spend even more time on them. Best game I have ever played: bar none

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

after playing this game for 4 months, the solo story mode is great, the social PVE is not so great, due to the lack of populations on servers. The hacking on pvp is terrible, so many people hack the pvp play, and bio has done nothing about it. the grind to get to 50 is kinda long, and after that you pretty much have nothin else to do but pvp, which is terrible. Only reason im still playing is i already paid for 2 months, and there is nothin else to play, im a huge star wars fan, i hope bio fixes the problems this game has or im going to guild wars 2

This game is perfect for: casual gamers

So far i was in love with WOW untill it became monotonous and the same, i gave a shot to rift which clearly has the best graphics but lacks the warmth of the game world along with PVP balance and final kill of interest was a load of useless talents.

SWTOR has talents lined up, you feel every talent point you spend, Graphics are nice, better then WOW, The voice acting is the the best. Game keeps you interested with a story line to level up to 50 so you don't feel like it's an endless grind. PVP system so far is fair but need to have more options, some thing like Arena in WOW would be nice. Good Part is that any class can be a tank or a healer in a tree so wont have problems balancing for raids. Companions are actually nice too.

All I can say is I am having fun. Of course no game is prefect right out the bat and of course it will take time but just wait for up dates and sure enough this game could get bigger if done right.
